I wanted to share the routine I actually use most days - simple products, fewer steps, and choices that feel good on my skin. Nothing fancy, just what has genuinely worked for me lately.

As a make-up artist, my kit is bursting at the seams with every product under the sun. But when it comes to my own face on a Tuesday morning? I need it to be quick, I need it to be effective, and most importantly, I need it to be 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

Building an ethical beauty routine doesn't mean you have to throw out your entire bathroom cabinet and start from scratch. It's about making mindful swaps when things run out, and finding those holy grail products that you can rely on day in, day out.

The Base: Skincare First

Before we even think about make-up, we need to talk about the canvas. If your skin is happy and hydrated, everything else just falls into place. I focus on a gentle cleanse, serious hydration, and protecting my skin barrier.

In the mornings, I keep it super simple. A splash of water or a very gentle cream cleanser, followed by a hydrating serum. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin – they are absolute lifesavers for plumping up the skin. And of course, SPF! Every. Single. Day. No excuses! There are so many incredible vegan sunscreens on the market now that don't leave that dreaded white cast.

The Everyday Face

When I'm rushing out the door, I reach for a lightweight base. A tinted moisturiser or a BB cream is perfect for evening out the skin tone without feeling heavy. I'll use a creamy concealer just where I need it – usually under the eyes and around the nose.

For cheeks, I am obsessed with cream blushes. They melt into the skin and give you that gorgeous, lit-from-within glow. A quick swipe across the apples of the cheeks and blended out with fingers... MY OH MY, it instantly wakes up the face!

Eyes and Lips

I keep the eyes minimal for the everyday routine. A quick curl of the lashes and a couple of coats of a really good vegan mascara. If I'm feeling fancy, maybe a smudge of bronzer in the crease for a bit of definition.

To finish it off, a hydrating lip balm or a sheer lip tint. Something you can apply without a mirror is always a winner in my book.

The Takeaway

The goal is a routine that is kind, realistic, and easy to stick with even on busy weeks. It's not about perfection; it's about making choices that align with your values while still making you feel fabulous.
